Brett Robinson co-founded RetailUnion after a diversified background on both the landlord and tenant side of the business and has been in the retail real estate industry for 23 years.
As Vice President responsible for store expansion at Chico’s, he grew the store count by over 300 percent in five years and as Senior Vice President of Continental Development, he had a combined development and leasing role–identifying lifestyle development opportunities around the US.
Recent accomplishments include negotiating multiple new locations for H&M and COS, bringing several key national retailers to Ka Makana Ali’i, and advising Amazon Books on on their first brick and mortar stores in the US.
Brett is a graduate of Southern Methodist University where he majored in Political Science.
Nick Koeijmans has been in the retail real estate industry for 28 years. He co-founded RetailUnion in 2012 and Open Realty Advisors in 1998, where he executed rollouts for retailers such as Apple, J Crew, Restoration Hardware, Michael Kors, and Lululemon.
Recent accomplishments include consulting with Amazon Books on their new store strategy and growing the H&M relationship to RetailUnion being their largest consulting group in the U.S. He has been instrumental in completing the new development leasing of Ka Makana Ali’i in Hawaii.
Prior to Nick’s consulting career, he was on the developer/landlord side of the business as Senior Vice President of Leasing of O’Connor Group. With that experience he also started and managed the retail advisory business for Open Realty.
Nick is a graduate of Southern Methodist University with a degree in Political Science.
Clay Mote, Principal
Clay Mote, a sixth generation Texan, grew up watching his own family in the world of commercial real estate. After graduating from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Real Estate, Clay began his career with The Weitzman Group in 1995 where he was named “Rookie of the Year”. In 2000, Clay became a founding member of Venture Commercial, a Dallas-based retail real estate brokerage firm specializing in landlord and tenant representation, retail pad sales and big box disposition. Clay joined RetailUnion as a principal in June 2019.
Clay is known for his strong work ethic, vast knowledge and creative solutions for problem solving. His clients regard him as a strategic thinker with initiative that enables them to achieve their individual needs. He is the national tenant rep and master broker for Northern Tool + Equipment and Florida Master Broker for Orchard Supply Hardware.
In 2009, D CEO Magazine named Clay one of Dallas’ top commercial brokers. He is consistently named by the Dallas Business Journal on the Heavy Hitter list and topped the Largest Retail deal list with his 184,000-square-foot retail lease for The Dump Furniture Store. Clay is a member of ICSC and has formerly served as a director for X Team and the North Texas Land Council.
Bryan Cornelius joined RetailUnion as a Principal in June 2019, specializing in tenant representation and new development consulting. Bryan brings over 26 years of real estate experience in brokerage, asset management, site selection, strategic market planning and commercial real estate appraisal to RetailUnion. His focus is tenant representation, specializing in the implementation of retailers’ market strategies for expansion in DFW and nationally for retail clients including Starbucks, rue21, Payless ShoeSource, GNC, FootLocker, Sola Salon Studios and Sprouts.
Prior to working in commercial real estate, Bryan spent 10 years in corporate real estate with Radio Shack, Payless ShoeSource and FedEx Kinko’s. His experience also includes commercial real estate appraisal of a wide variety of income-producing properties including office buildings, retail centers, multi-family, industrial warehouses, residential subdivisions and vacant land.
Bryan is known for his strategic market planning process, which he learned on the corporate side of the business. Bryan’s core strength is seeing the big picture and planning a client’s experience comprehensively for the entire market, rather than looking at an isolated store one location at a time. He understands the client’s needs and tailors a plan specific to the retailer and the market. Bryan has been an integral part in putting together strategic market plans and rollouts for many clients including Starbucks, GNC, Sola Salon Studios and Sleep Experts.
Jim Dunn, Partner
Jim Dunn joined RetailUnion as a Partner in June 2019. He specializes in tenant representation and pad leasing. Jim works closely with his clients to develop strategic market planning, trade area analysis and site selection.
Jim was part of the team at Venture Commercial Real Estate from 2004 to 2019, and he has spent over a decade honing his market knowledge and building relationships with land owners, landlords and developers. He has a stellar client list of sought-after national, regional and local tenants. Jim has earned a reputation in the market of always being on top of the next best retail development. Jim has proven his ability to continuously create value for his clients with his exceptional market knowledge, consistent follow through, and attention to detail,
Jim currently acts as the exclusive broker for T-Mobile, Massage Envy, Foot Locker, Bibbentuckers, Spa 810 and Sprouts Farmers Market.
Grant received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from Southern Methodist University.
Carey started her real estate career in 2006 as a transaction manager for CB Richard Ellis where she serviced the Bank of America account and negotiated over 45 ATM transactions throughout Texas, New Mexico and Colorado.
Prior to joining RetailUnion in 2016, Carey was First Vice President at SRS Real Estate Partners, focused primarily on local and national tenant representation, with a secondary emphasis on landlord representation. She worked with an extended brokerage team to execute multi-market efforts and executed over 100 transactions for clients which included Carter’s/Osh Kosh, Sleep Number, Aeropostale, Jonathan Adler and MiniLuxe. Carey also had an active role in landlord representation, working with DDR, Cypress Equites, and the Carlye Group.
Carey received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Real Estate Finance from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
Daphne began her career in real estate with a focus on bringing national fashion brands to the New Orleans market. Her passion lay in curating an ideal mix of best in class local retailers and national concepts along Magazine Street, including such brands as Billy Reid, Cycle Bar and Warby Parker.
Most recently, Daphne’s focus has been on her work representing H&M in their expansion throughout Tennessee and Louisiana, as well as the redevelopment of the historic JAX Brewery in New Orleans. She executed deals with Sephora and Vans, and her work has established North Peters Street as the primary shopping corridor in the downtown market.
Daphne graduated from Vanderbilt University with a degree in Human and Organizational Development.
